Liebster Awards

“I want to win an award that doesn’t exist yet. Well, I want my clone to win it, and that’s almost the same thing—and he also doesn’t exist yet, so it’s perfect.”
― Jarod Kintz, This is the best book I’ve ever written, and it still sucks

  1. Thank you so much for the nomination…but I can't accept. I have won the Liebster Award before, and I have over 200 followers. They probably don't actually all follow me, but they are signed up. 🙂
However I love answering questions about me….soooo…..
    1. Favourite TV Show? Dr. Who however I haven't been able to see the last couple of seasons. But I love the old ones!
    2. Favourite era in History? Oh that's a toughie. ummm….I'd love to meet Leonardo DiVinci, so how about then. If there was actually a peaceful time in history that would be a good time. I'd also love to meet Buddha, and oh there are so many historical figures but no really a specific time….I think I'd have to jump around. 🙂
    3. Favourite Music genre? That's tough too, I have really varied taste. I get in moods. Since I lost my hearing music is different for me. It doesn't sound the same with my cochlear implants, so I find music I used to love I'm not as fond of…so I'm discovering music I never thought I'd like before.
    4. Favourite food? Good Clean Wholesome Food. One of my favorite things right now is Greek Yogurt with banana, blueberries, and walnuts….and maybe a little maple syrup. a wonderful desert.
    5. What do you love most about where you live? We live in a city, but our neighborhood has a small town feel. There are more people walking their dogs on my street than there are cars.
    6. Do you live in the same City/Town you were born in? No. I'm very glad I don't live in the same town I grew up in.
    7. Last place you went on holiday? ummmm….a real vacation? Williamsburg Virginia, and I really didn't like that. We haven't had a real vacation in a very long time.
    8. What book are you reading right now? Full Catastrophe Living by Jon Kabat-Zinn (it's about Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction)
    9. What was the last song/piece of music you listened to? I don't know.
    10. What is your favourite colour? Yellow!!!
    11. Favourite holiday/event in the year? Halloween!

Thank you so much for the nomination.
I love your answers and random facts!!

  2. Ah thank you Wendy! My WordPress app showed me less than 200! Doh!! Imwith you on Halloween aswell…its not really celebrated here in the UK though unfortunately 😦

  3. Interesting! I'm a big metal fan. More on the metal-core side, but what are your current favorite metal artists?

I also see you mentioned soccer (futbol) and I'm always to see who one's favorite team is in UK. Usually I noticed even people near more local smaller teams are still primarily fans of Man U, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, ect.

(Over the last year I became a fan of Southampton actually. So entertaining and fun to watch.)

  4. Always good to find another metal fan! I'm more a fan of Thrash, Symphonic and Death but do listen to some metal-core. Metal artists currently getting a lot of playtime are Apocalyptica, Nightwish, A7X, Goatwhore, Metallica, Iron Maiden, and probably Pig Destroyer. But I change it up quite a lot!

You are right about the teams in the UK my Husband is a classic example supporting Chelsea! I support my local teams Bristol City (mens) and Bristol Academy (womens). The women are some of the best in the league and the team has quite a few who play for national teams, but the mens are….well supporting them is hard work lets say!

Southampton is an unusual choice from the more common one's to go for! Any reason them not Man U/Liverpool?

  5. Hmm. I live in the states and, I've been actively watching the EPL and Chapions League.

I've always felt it was kind of boring to root for the top teams in any sport. Man U fans always got mad about City and Chelseas spending money, but the top 5-6 have alot of money to spend in general.

Attacking and entertaining football though particular attracts me. Obviously the top teams will do this often, but finding a mid-table team that did this and could make games against top-flight competition a true game made me root for a team like Southampton consistently.

I'm told I should be an Everton fan though because of Tim Howard.

  6. Tim Howard is a great keeper, one of my favourites, but his choice in Everton is flawed so you made a good choice steering clear there! Its quite amusing as I know from Brit friends in the States that you guys actuall get to see more of our games than we do on TV! It's all premium and pay per view over here!

I ocassionally watch NFL, but havent quite got my head around the rules! It goes on for so long!

  7. Well do your own celebration! Or be like my cousin and celebrate it all year long! You should see his house….and yes he is married with kids. They were into zombies long before it was cool. Don't know if the zombie craze it there or not, but here…it is everywhere it seems.
I didn't even know you could look to see how many followers someone has.
actually, I just looked and it appears I have fallen just under 200 followers via WordPress, but if you count followers via other ways I have more. (hmmm, should I worry, are people leaving me?)
🙂 you know that's now why I blog right? xo wendy
